Weakside Linebacker

The Weakside Linebacker (Or the Right Outside Linebacker (ROLB)) is a member of the defense and is the usually the fastest of all the linebackers, since he’s the linebacker who gets called into pass coverage. He’s called the weakside linebacker because he plays on the weak side of the formation – the side without the tight end – and is nicknamed the “Will” linebacker.

(Famous linebackers: Dick Butkus, Lawrence Taylor, Ray Lewis)
